I made these for my 15 year old daughter. She picked out this superwash merino hand dyed at the Boonville fair and wanted some gloves. This is what I came up with.

I love making paper stuff. These books are a result of too many post it notes around looking all icky, so I wrapped them with beautiful papers and embellished them with little knick knacks...

Love my new motorcycle!

This is what I made with the yarn from Manda at knitting psychos. Thank you Manda.
I love the way the top 2 pairs the color pooled and the bottom 2 the color swirls around. I also made some Ipod/cell phone covers with the left over bits.

Finally finished the first socks! whew!

Yippee, these socks fit perfect, are beautiful and will be the best Christmas gift ever. I think I will knit one more pair for myself and be done with socks. I love doing fingerless gloves.

One sock done!

I finally frogged the 2 socks on 1 needle, and did 1

sock on 1 needle using magic loop. I have cast on for the second and hope I actually get it finished. I love the Lime & Violet colorway and am looking forward having a pair of socks for my husband.

Thank you, Manda!

This is a photo of the yarn I won from the Knitting Psychos podcast for entering first!
Whooo hooo!
I entered a "what was your inspiration to start knitting" contest. The following is what I emailed to Manda.

Hi, I love you podcast, keep it up!
My inspiration came about 2 years ago when my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and I just knew she was going to need a beautiful cashmere hat to cover her soon to be bald head. I only knew how to crochet and I wanted her to have wonderful cables. I set out on a mission to learn to knit, then how to knit in the round, then to do cables. I bought a book and knitted scarf after scarf until I was confident with my basic skills. Soon I was putting out beautifully knitted hats for my mother and she loved every one. I also felt like I was doing something to help her, and I had the therapy of yarn and sticks during all the long nights and days at the hospital. Then I knitted for other cancer patients in the hospital and some other family members with various types of cancer as well. My mom passed away a year ago and I had her cremated while she wore one of the hats I knitted for her, so her head would always be warm, and a small piece of my love could be with her always. I continue to knit for family and friends and anyone I hear about who has cancer and always love the feel of yarn and sticks in my hands.

Thanks for letting me share my inspiration.
